Rice with Gandules

From Puerto Rico

INGREDIENTS.

  • 1 Lb Medium grain rice
  • Ground cumin (To taste)
  • Oregano (To taste)
  • 1 Lb of Cooking Ham
  • 1 Lb of Bacon. Cooked in water
  • 1 can of tomato sauce
  • 1 Can of Gandules
  • Sofrito (to taste)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • 1/2 Beer

Preparation.

Calculate two cups of water per cup of rice. Put salt, oregano, cumin, oil and sofrito. When the water boils, add the Gandules and rice. When the rice is drying you add the beer and let it dry to the end.

SERVES 6 to 8 persons.
